“The men and women of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office work everyday to protect us and our way of life. It is their duty and their calling. Our duty is to do everything in our power to make their job easier and safer.”

Franco Valobra, Founding Member

The HCSO Foundation, (HCSOF) was formed in 2010 by a group of community leaders and private citizens.

MISSION

To assist and support the men and women of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in carrying out their law enforcement mandates in the safest and most efficient manner.

HISTORY

The HCSO Foundation was established with the intent to serve as an organization dedicated to providing community support and supplemental funding for safety equipment and training for the deputies at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).

Additionally, the Founding Members all shared in a joint vision with former Sheriff Adrian Garcia, to raise funds to design and build a HCSO Memorial dedicated in honor of the deputies who have made the ultimate sacrifice of life in protection of the citizens of Harris County.

PURPOSE

The HCSO Foundation’s vision is one of collaboration and support for our deputies. The HCSO Foundation strives to create a safer community for us all based upon meaningful engagement between private citizens and law enforcement representatives including the recognition of  the importance of a shared relationship based upon trust, collaboration and respect for the rule of law between citizens and those who serve to protect the public as guardians of the peace.

The primary purpose of the HCSO Foundation is to provide supplemental resources for the deputies at the HCSO which are funded by individuals, corporations and community partners.

VISION

Our primary vision is one of collaboration and support for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies and department representatives. Through this, we hope to create a safer community for the citizens of Harris County.

FUNDING

The HCSO Foundation seeks to provide supplemental funding to increase available resources for training, specialized equipment and law enforcement initiatives for the deputies. The annual HCSO budget is primarily funded by Harris County, however, current available funding is insufficient to cover all anticipated and desired equipment and training needs for current law enforcement initiatives at the HCSO.

With additional funding available from the community, the HCSO Foundation has proudly supported the HCSO by donating funds for protective body armor, tactical gear, equipment, specialized technology and training for the deputies, first responders and crisis intervention teams as they diligently work to protect the citizens of Harris County.

An increasingly complex and more dangerous environment for law enforcement professionals requires vigilant support from the community and strategic collaboration among state and federal law enforcement agencies to efficiently and most effectively combat crime.
